    Africa Day Celebration 2024: A Vibrant Showcase of African Culture

    Winningteamtv garther that the 2024 Africa Day Celebration, held on May 24th at the Brazilian Embassy in Abuja, was a resounding success, offering a vibrant display of African cultural heritage. The event opened with a speech by Hon. Quadri-adu Kehinde, President of the Afro-Caribbean Chamber of Culture and Tourism (ACCCAT), setting a positive tone for the festivities.

    The highlight of the event was a keynote address by Ambassador (Princess) Adesuwa Obaseki, who spoke on “Africa Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” She emphasized Africa’s rich history and diverse cultures, highlighting the continent’s profound transformations and promising future. Her speech underscored Africa’s resilience and potential amidst its dynamic challenges and opportunities.

    Fadele Abiodun Samson conducted a special training session on the deployment of artificial intelligence and robotic engineering. Other notable speeches came from ambassadors of Brazil, Burundi, Trinidad and Tobago, China, and UNESCO, each offering unique perspectives and support for African cultural and technological advancement. The Chairman of the Yoruba Community in Abuja, Otunba Hakeem Adetunji, also attended the event.

    The celebration continued on the morning of May 25th with a Liberation Walk through selected routes in Abuja. Later, a Diplomatic Dinner at the Korea Cultural Center featured extensive remarks from the Korean Ambassador, advocating for stronger trade and cultural ties between Africa and South Korea. Kabiyeesi Obaru Adimula’s speech on cultural exchange and collaboration inspired hope and unity among attendees.

    Princess Modupe Nwodi, a former presidential aspirant, delivered a powerful message on the inclusion of women in Africa’s developmental agenda, receiving widespread acclaim.

    The two-day event attracted diplomats, government officials, secondary school students, National Youth Service Corps members, and key stakeholders from the culture and tourism sectors. The celebration included a range of activities such as music, dance, and art performances, which highlighted the richness and diversity of African culture.
