Shehu Mohammed, the newly appointed Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), approved the redeployment of five senior officers.
This was revealed in a statement by Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Commander and Corps Public Education Officer, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Corps Marshal said the redeployment was in line with his policy of strategically repositioning the Corps to ensure optimal performance and ease of doing business.
Mohammed appointed them to the rank of three Assistant Marshals, a Corps Commander, and a Deputy Corps Commander.
He ordered them to report to their new duty stations with immediate effect.
“The officers affected are Deputy Marshal Jonas Agwu, a former Public Education Officer, who has now been redeployed to head the Department of Administration and Human Resources in Abuja.
“Deputy Corps Marshal Chidi Nkwonta, former Commandant of Command and Staff College, FRSC Udi, Enugu State, assumes the role of Chief Staff Officer to the Corps Marshal.
“Nkwonta replaces Deputy Corps Marshal Hafeez Muhammed who was transferred as Zonal Commander, Zone 7,” he said.
In the same vein, the Corps Marshal also approved the redeployment of Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide as the new Public Education Officer.
Before his transfer, the new spokesperson was in charge of Command Administration and Strategy in the Operations Division of the Headquarters.
Mohammed also appointed Deputy Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan as the Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal and Head of the Corps Information Technology Office respectively.
He urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment and dedication to their duties and share the FRSC’s vision of making Nigerian roads safer for all motorists.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mohammed, while reading out his policy thrust on Wednesday, said his government was determined to play a decisive role.
Mohammed also said that for the realization of President Bola Tinubu’s New Hope agenda, it was a safer path hence the strategic re-orientation.
