During the presentation of the award, the Director General of CYMS, Chief Obinna Nwaka, said on Wednesday in Abuja that the MCD demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities to deserve the recognition and award.
Nwaka said the award was not meant to praise or massage the ego of the principal, but rather CYMS was driven by the desire to encourage her not to give up on her efforts and do more of her.
The CYMS Director General, who thanked DCM for identifying with the group, describing her as a detribalized Nigerian, added that the Youth wants these types of people in public positions.
“We are here to honor the Mother of the Nigerian Youth.” And also thank you for your guidance and support.
“She didn’t know she was nominated, we are here to thank her for being on the side of the Youth, because we believe that whoever is on the side of the youth is on the side of CYMS and we thank her because she is also invested in the youth.
“If you are a mother you have all the opportunities to invest in your youth, if you are a grandmother it is an opportunity to invest in the youth of your grandchildren, if you are young you have the opportunity to invest in your youth. age.
“We invested in our youth and that is why we are taking advantage of the dividend and one of the dividends is obvious.
“Thank you on behalf of the youth of Nigeria and this is a call to action for you to do more, no matter who you are, no matter how poor or rich you are, you are useful in society because even the rich need help from the poor . they.
Nwaka called on Nigerian youths to be responsible people in the society while the government does its part.
This, she said, was necessary because “if we are not responsible, we will face the consequences of being irresponsible citizens in society.
Nwaka said CYMS will continue to recognise, identify and reward individuals of proven character in both the public and private sectors.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the CYMS team comprised Mr. Kelechi Ugwumba, Director of Mobilization, Hon. Taiye Agbaje, former Epe Constituency Assembly Constituency of Lagos State, Prince Boluwaji Kudus, Director of Logistics, Ruth Elu, Head of Corpers and Volunteers, among others.
CYMS held its National Conference on Thursday, June 6, where youth from different walks of life come together and discuss peace and development of the nation with awards given to outstanding and nominated individuals.
In response, Siddique described the excellence award as her most precious award, adding that he encouraged her to do more for the youths of Nigeria.
He pledged to continually support young people and CYMS in fulfilling its mandate as a youth organization with responsibility for growth and development.
“I want to thank you and this award will encourage me to do more for the youth of this country. This qualified me to be a CYMS volunteer.
“Whatever you do, I’ll volunteer and let me know how it goes. We identify with young people and that makes us more mentors.
“I will always say that at NYSC we mentor young people. We have come a long way to ensure that they are good citizens of the nations.
“I want to say this is very appreciated. I will always be at the side of young people. You might be interested to know that I am passionate about working with young people,” she said.
In his goodwill message, Chief Eddy Megwa, NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, expressed delight at the recognition by the MCD.
Megwa urged governors to improve the kind of work CYMS was doing.
“We are delighted that you have recognized one of our own. She is one of the scheme’s unique personalities and she also fits the vision of their organization.
“I also learned that her organization is made up of upright men and women and that they are encouraging the younger ones, the young people, to also get involved in this transparent and upright aspect of their growth.
“This can help make Nigeria a better place and it merges with the vision of the plan that we are executing and trying to build this sense of responsibility and integrity among the youth.
