The FCT Minister on Monday, July 29, 2024, paid an inspection visit to the construction site of the 9-kilometre Paikon Kore/Ibwa rural road in Gwagwalada Area Council, where he expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work.
A statement by Anthony Ogunleye Director of Press, Office of the Minister said Bar. Wike explained that the project was one of the roads directed by the President to be completed in the satellite towns, stressing that the contractor also promised to complete and deliver the road by December this year.
He said: “I am very happy and the contractor has promised he will complete it and deliver it by December. This is a 9 km long road. This is interesting because this is one of the roads that the president needs to have completed in the satellite Tworen
The Minister expressed confidence in the contractor’s ability to complete the road on time and thanked the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon.
The minister also stated that the road project, once completed, will improve access to agricultural land and markets in rural areas, adding that it will also help address the challenges of food insecurity in the country.
He urged neighboring communities to be patient and assured that the government is committed to changing the situation for the better in the country.
He said: “I will continue to urge you to remain calm and patient. This government is fully committed to changing things for the better.”
