The Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA), a rehabilitation centre in Abuja, has partnered with Slum Tech, an information technology firm, to enhance community health and technology access, particularly in underserved areas
Dr. Hope Omeiza, General Director of VGADA, made the announcement during a visit by the CEO of Slum Tech, Mrs. Abdullahi Asmau, to the Rehabilitation Center in Abuja.
Omeiza said the partnership aims to address the twin challenges of drug addiction and technological inequality.
He described VGADA as an organization dedicated to combating drug addiction.
“The partnership will integrate VGADA’s extensive community health expertise with Slum Tech’s cutting-edge technology solutions, enhancing the organization’s ability to provide critical services and resources to those affected by substance abuse.”
“The partnership includes technology-based support services, including digital tools for education, recovery management and outreach programs.
“Slum Tech’s expertise will help develop and deliver apps and platforms that support people in their recovery process and provide valuable resources to communities in need.
“By combining VGADA’s commitment to combating substance abuse with Slum Tech’s focus on bridging the digital divide, the partnership will provide essential healthcare support and access to life-saving technology to underserved communities.”
Expressing his excitement about the partnership, Omeiza said: “We are very excited about partnering with Slum Tech.
“Their innovative approach to technology fits perfectly with our mission to support those struggling with addiction.”
In his response, Abdullahi Asmau, CEO of Slum Tech, said the partnership with VGADA is a significant milestone for Slum Tech.
