The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has trained more than 2000 personnel in various areas of professionalism including effective road safety management in the last three months.

This was disclosed by the FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, on Thursday in Abuja, while addressing 80 participants who had just completed their training in communication skills.

Mohammed said the Corps prioritizes workforce development, strategic communications and public education to address complex road safety issues.

He said he was committed to implementing his government’s policy directions and ensuring professionalism, adding that the initiatives were aimed at equipping personnel with the necessary expertise to meet changing road safety challenges.

The FRSC Corps said the capacity building programme is designed to equip personnel with the latest skills.

This included knowledge and best practices in public relations, media relations, strategic communications, crisis management and road safety management, among others.

“We have launched another round of comprehensive capacity building programmes that will lead to the training of 80 mid-level communicators.

“The training, which was aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge to meet the changing needs of road safety management and traffic administration, included a mix of theoretical and practical training sessions.

“There were also workshops and mentoring led by in-house and international experts.

“This initiative underlines the Corps’ commitment to positioning the FRSC as a leading road safety agency, equipped to meet the complex challenges of modern road safety management.

“In the last three months alone, over 2,000 personnel have been trained in various areas of specialization since I joined the department and the level of productivity is clearly evident in the workplace,” he said.

The Corps Marshal stressed that the Corps is investing in the future of the country’s road safety by investing in personnel.

He praised the performance of the participants and emphasized the importance of the program in strengthening the Corps’ commitment to excellence in road safety management.
