The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has thrown its weight behind Mr Ayodele Olawande, newly nominated Minister of Youth Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This was contained in a statement by the Director-General of CYMS, Chief Obinna Nwaka, on Friday in Abuja.
The chairman of the committee commended Olawande’s extensive experience in youth advocacy and community development.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, October 23, approved the reassignment of 10 ministers to new portfolios, dismissed five of them and appointed seven others who will be sent to the Senate for confirmation at a later date.
Obinna described Olawanda as an approachable and balanced team leader with a good team spirit.
He expressed confidence that the Federal Ministry of Youth Development under Olawande’s leadership would introduce innovative programmes that would enhance youth participation in the areas of governance, education, employment and entrepreneurship.
“Nigerian youth are a powerful catalyst for change. Under Olawande’s leadership, we expect the ministry to launch impactful initiatives that will resonate with Nigerian youth,” he said.
The CYMS boss urged stakeholders to support Olawande’s mission of promoting an inclusive atmosphere for youth.
He called for collaboration with youth groups and open dialogue to integrate youth perspectives into national policy formulation.
“At the start of its tenure, CYMS looks forward to a partnership focused on empowering Nigerian youths, educating the public on Federal Government policies and programmes and helping them achieve their full potential in nation building,” he stated.
“With Olawande at the helm, Nigerian youth can look forward to positive changes,” he stated.
