The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has passed a unanimous vote of confidence in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), commending its prudence, transparency, and exceptional performance.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Allwell Onyesoh, presented the awards on behalf of the members on Wednesday in Abuja at the end of an oversight function at the FRSC.
The committee members also appreciated the discipline of the FRSC staff, their high level of courtesy and professionalism in their activities.
The committee commended FRSC Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed for his eloquent presentation on the implementation of the 2024 budget, describing him as “intelligent and transparent.”
“The Corps deserves a way back for a job well done.”
They also agreed for better budget allocation and better welfare of personnel and urged the FRSC Corps Marshal to continue to improve performance and service delivery, a symbol of hope for the country.
In response, the Corps Marshal appreciated the administrative and legislative capacity of the committee and the love it showed for the unity of the country.
Mohammed appreciated their support for the road safety programme in Nigeria as well as the mission and vision of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
He reiterated his commitment to improving the safety of lives and property while assuring the committee that all were already ready to ensure the safety of Nigerian roads for all.þ
