The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has reiterated the FCT Administration’s dedication to fostering a conducive business environment in Abuja for all stakeholders. This commitment was emphasized during separate courtesy visits by the Egyptian and Moroccan Ambassadors to Nigeria on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
A statement by the Director Press, Anthony Ogunleye Office of the FCT Minister said, During his meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Mohammed Fouad, Barr. Wike highlighted the longstanding positive relationship between Nigeria and Egypt. He noted the significant presence and success of Egyptian companies in Nigeria, particularly Arab Contractors, which is currently executing the critical Airport Expressway to Kuje road project in the FCT.
The Minister stated, “Our goal is to ensure that our guests can conduct their businesses without hindrance and to create a very conducive environment. He also expressed interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Egypt in agriculture and vocational training, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships for Nigeria’s development.

Ambassador Fouad commended Barr. Wike for his exceptional leadership and infrastructure development in the FCT, acknowledging his recognition as “Mr. Project and “Best Minister of 2024. He praised the Minister’s efforts in transforming Abuja and highlighted the successful collaboration between Nigeria and Egypt through Arab Contractors, a Nigerian-Egyptian company with over 95% Nigerian employees.
The Ambassador also emphasized the potential for further economic and infrastructural collaboration between the two nations, particularly in urban planning and infrastructure development. He noted Egypt’s ongoing administrative capital project and suggested an exchange of expertise with Nigeria, given its experience in capital relocation.
As the largest countries on the continent, we share the responsibility of strengthening bilateral relations to drive continental progress. There is much to learn from each other, especially in urban planning and infrastructure expansion,”* Ambassador Fouad remarked.
In a separate meeting with the Moroccan Ambassador to Nigeria, Moha Tagma, discussions centered on strengthening diplomatic ties and exploring opportunities for collaboration. The Minister assured the Moroccan envoy of the FCT Administration’s full support for the construction of the new Moroccan Embassy in Abuja.
“This morning, I directed the Development Control department to liaise with you on the commencement of your embassy construction. You will hear from them shortly, ”Barr. Wike stated. He also accepted an invitation to visit Rabat to discuss potential partnerships between Abuja and Morocco.
Reaffirming the FCT Administration’s commitment to the diplomatic community, the Minister emphasized the importance of enabling diplomats to carry out their duties seamlessly. He highlighted the significant improvements in security and infrastructure within the FCT, stating, Our priority is to ensure that all diplomats can conduct their business without any hindrance.
The meetings were attended by the Chief of Staff to the Minister, Hon. Chidi Amadi; General Counsel, Barr. Salman Dako; Economic Planning Secretary, Arch. Ubokutom Nyah; and SSA on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation, Barr. Benedict Daudau.
