An NGO, the Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH-TRACADA), has praised President Bola Tinubu for his swift and decisive action in addressing the recent political crisis in Rivers State.
Mr. Belonwu Ezeanyaeche, the Founder and Executive Director of AKH-TRACADA, expressed the organization’s support for Tinubu’s intervention in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja.
Ezeanyaeche highlighted that Tinubu’s prompt action helped to de-escalate tensions and prevent the situation from worsening, showcasing his dedication to maintaining peace and stability in Nigeria. He described the president as a catalyst for peace and commended his leadership style.
“President Tinubu’s decisive action is a clear reflection of his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the safety and well-being of all Nigerians,” Ezeanyaeche said.
He further noted that Tinubu’s leadership has inspired hope and renewed confidence in the nation’s future.
“President Tinubu has demonstrated that he is a leader who stands by his word. His commitment to addressing the challenges facing the country remains steadfast,” Ezeanyaeche added.
“We are confident that his administration will continue to work tirelessly to make Nigeria a better place for all citizens. We commend the president for his unwavering dedication to democratic principles and his determination to protect the rights of all Nigerians,” he said.
Ezeanyaeche urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s efforts to resolve the country’s challenges and promote peace and stability.
President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State on March 18 during a nationwide broadcast. The declaration led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Odu, and all members of the State House of Assembly for six months.
To oversee the state’s affairs during this period, Tinubu appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas as the state administrator. The president’s action was backed by Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution, which grants him the authority to declare a state of emergency when necessary to restore peace and order.
The emergency rule is expected to stabilize the political landscape in Rivers State and prevent further disruption, reinforcing the federal government’s commitment to national security and democratic governance.
