The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bwari Area Council has intensified preparations for the upcoming council elections by organizing a well-attended sensitization meeting. The event served as a platform to galvanize party members and stakeholders around shared goals of unity, peace, and voter mobilization.
Held in the heart of Bwari, the meeting brought together a diverse audience, including party elders, youth leaders, women representatives, and grassroots mobilizers. Discussions focused on key strategic goals such as enhancing voter awareness, deepening internal cohesion, and preparing for peaceful campaigns.
Party leaders emphasized that internal strife, indiscipline, and poor coordination could weaken the party’s chances at the polls.
Speaking at the event, APC bwari area council chairman Hon. Abu Shere urged members to set aside personal grievances and focus on collective victory. They stressed that mutual respect, discipline, and loyalty to party ideals must guide all actions as the election season unfolds.
Also Hon. Solomon Dagami, Commissioner, Federal character commission said the message is short but vital,” We must foster mutual understanding and unity. INEC has opened its registration portal, and I urge all eligible voters to register and collect their PVCs immediately. Support without a PVC is meaningless.”
Much of the conversation with other speakers, revolved around encouraging members to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced a week-long online voter registration exercise, and APC leaders in Bwari see this as a pivotal moment to build electoral strength.
Hon. Musa Ibrahim Jato, APC Deputy State Chairman, Reminded party faithful that elections are not won on loyalty alone but on actual votes, and only registered voters can influence outcomes.
APC flag bearer Shekwolo Audi Haruna delivered a rallying call for peaceful political engagement, stating that the party’s campaign would be issue-based and respectful of opposing views.
“Politics is a game of interest,” Shekwolo said. “We must convince others through peaceful means. I instruct all our supporters to avoid violence and uphold the law. Wherever we campaign, let our message be peace and progress.”
Beyond just party members, the meeting also extended a hand of collaboration to civil society, transport unions, security agencies, and community influencers. The aim is to promote a peaceful, inclusive election and reduce incidents of electoral violence.
The APC reiterated its commitment to building a transparent and vibrant democratic process in Bwari, stressing that credible leadership begins with credible elections.
As elections approach, the APC in Bwari is positioning itself as a united and forward-thinking political force. With renewed emphasis on voter registration, peaceful participation, and internal harmony, the party is working to ensure a smooth and successful electoral outing.
