The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the commencement of the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), inviting residents to verify their details and participate in the Claims and Objections process.
The exercise follows the suspension of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the FCT. It is conducted in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Electoral Act 2022, which mandates the Commission to display the provisional register for public scrutiny before finalising the voter list.
According to INEC, the Preliminary Register of Voters contains the names of all individuals who recently registered during the concluded CVR exercise. The register will be displayed at all designated Ward Centres across the six area councils of the FCT. The list of these locations can be accessed on the Commission’s official website at [www.cvr.inecnigeria.org/locations](https://www.cvr.inecnigeria.org/locations).
Residents who registered during the last CVR are advised to visit their respective ward centres to confirm the accuracy of their personal details and raise any necessary claims or corrections. Similarly, other registered voters are encouraged to check the displayed list to raise objections if they notice any irregularities, such as the inclusion of ineligible names.
The exercise is scheduled to run daily from Friday, October 17 to Thursday, October 23, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The final day, Thursday, October 23, will be dedicated to the hearing of claims and objections raised during the display period.
INEC reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and credible electoral process in the FCT, urging residents to take advantage of the opportunity to help maintain a clean and accurate voter register.
“INEC – making your votes count and consolidating our democracy,” the Commission stated.
