The All Progressives Congress (APC) held its 153rd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, during which the party joined the president in impassioned appeal to those planning protests. The APC appeals to citizens to set aside their protest plans and trust in the government’s ability to address the country’s economic challenges.
In a statement release by Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, PhD
National Secretary
All Progressives Congress (APC) Said the NWC acknowledged that since the current government took office in 2023, it has faced numerous challenges, particularly in the economic sector. The President is gradually implementing programs and policies designed to provide aid to citizens in the near future.
It was emphasized that many of the economic problems are global in nature and require in-depth debate to resolve them effectively. Additionally, some of the concerns raised by protesters are political or constitutional issues requiring change, which are currently underway in the National Assembly.
The NWC urges those planning protests to trust in the President’s unwavering efforts to reposition the economy and assures Nigerians that current challenges will eventually be resolved. The committee also appeals to parents and well-meaning Nigerians to keep a close eye on their children and wards to prevent them from being used to incite chaos.
Furthermore, the NWC called for an emergency meeting of the APC chairmen of the 36 states of the federation to further discussions.
