Action Alliance (AA) Party, has cautioned members of the public against impostors parading themselves as its officials, trying to destabilise the party.
Mr James Vernimbe, AA National Secretary, gave the advice on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Vernimbe said the advice had become necessary ahead of the upcoming governorship elections in Ondo and Edo states.
We advise party members in both states not to pay attention to imposters attempting to distract and disrupt the peace and unity of the party at the state and national levels.
“The staff of the Action Alliance (AA) National Headquarters in Abuja was attracted by a disaffected person from the party who posed as a national youth leader.
“The position of National Youth Leader of Action Alliance is currently occupied by the real leader of the people, Bonaventure Akadube.
“We condemn the self-proclaimed National Youth Leader and call on the general public, especially the National Leadership Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Nigerian Political Parties (FNYLPPN) to bring Bonaventure Akadube back together,” he said.
Vernimbe said the imposters were merely trying to create confusion ahead of the upcoming off-cycle elections, which is a cause for concern.
The public is urged to verify the authenticity of the party leaders on the official website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to avoid dealing with imposters.
The party in charge called for peace in the party and urged its members to remain united and focus on achieving victory in the next elections of the cycle.
