An NGO, Foundation for Youth Empowerment and Social Justice has praised Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his outstanding achievements in infrastructure development within the FCT, despite the country’s economic challenges.
The foundation’s Managing Director, Dr Yusuf Suberu, welcomed this in a statement made on Friday in Abuja.
Suberu commended the FCT Minister for his unwavering commitment to transforming the FCT through infrastructure development and creating new optimism among residents.
He said Wike’s commitment was in line with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda which focuses on building, rebuilding and infrastructure development.
He also said Wike had demonstrated his determination to promote a more prosperous and connected FCT and deserved the continued support and cooperation of stakeholders.
“This award comes at a time when Wike continues to prioritise initiatives aimed at revitalising rural areas within the FCT and ensuring equitable distribution of resources and opportunities,” he said.
Suberu also thanked Wike for his exceptional leadership in providing vital infrastructure and social services to the FCT including clean water, solar power and improved street lighting.
According to him, this remarkable progress surpasses the achievements of previous governments and is transforming the lives of the people of the FCT.
“Under Wike’s leadership, the FCT has witnessed an unprecedented surge in infrastructure development that has transformed all sectors of the territory.
“The pace of progress has been remarkable and extensive construction and renovation measures have revitalized the area. By hosting major projects, especially in the area of rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads in the region, the city has taken on a new face.
“We would like to thank the minister for being an active and sincere politician who puts the interests of his people before his personal interests.”
“And this despite the fact that we are going through a severe economic crisis that we are trying to overcome. Man and we appreciate it.
“It is inevitable that significant progress will meet resistance, but we urge them to remain focused on transforming the FCT. “We hope that other ministers will emulate this approach,” he stressed.
Suberu, who applauded Wike and called him “Mr. Project,” adding that his tireless dynamism earned him a reputation and consolidated his position as a champion of development within the FCT.
He said Wike, as FCT minister, spearheaded several projects to improve infrastructure and quality of life in the region.
“His commitment to progress was evident in his previous roles, including his tenure as governor of Rivers State, where he oversaw several developmental projects.
“Wike’s tireless efforts did not go unnoticed and his reputation as “Mr. The project is a testament to their unwavering commitment to transforming the FCT and much more,” he said.
Suberu warned that criticism is likely to hamper Wike’s progress, stressing the need for continued support to ensure the successful implementation of the Renewed Hope program.
The head of the NGO highlighted that the security of the territory remains a priority for Wike, which plans to introduce advanced security measures, including drone surveillance in partnership with Hungary, to cover the vast Abuja area.
Suberu reiterated his confidence in Wike’s leadership, attributing the rapid progress in Abuja’s development to his rigorous work ethics and extensive experience in public service.
He called for continued support for Wike’s vision, highlighting its potential to drive global growth and progress in the region.
