As preparations intensify for the 2025 Chairmanship elections in the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), political activities have gained momentum at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Abuja, with aspirants arriving in large numbers to obtain their expression of interest and nomination forms.
WinningTeamTV.com crew visited the APC FCT Secretariat to monitor the unfolding events and speak with some aspirants. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, as party faithful and supporters showed up to cheer their preferred candidates.
Among the notable aspirants was Hon. Joshua Ishaku Musa, a Chairmanship hopeful for the Bwari Area Council. In a brief speech after picking up his nomination form, Hon. Musa thanked his supporters and declared his commitment to serve.
“I’ve taken this step after deep reflection and wide consultation,” he said. “I’m running to lead Bwari to a new era of progress, unity, and service. This is a call I accept with humility, and I’m determined to give my all to our great party and people.”
He emphasized party unity and collective action as key to winning the upcoming polls, calling on residents and stakeholders to rally around a shared vision for development.
Also at the Secretariat was Hon. Tanko Yamawo, an aspirant for the AMAC, who spoke confidently about her plans to prioritize women and youth empowerment.
“I represent a new generation of leadership that listens and delivers. The municipal area council deserves a responsive administration that includes everyone, especially the youth and women who are often overlooked.
As more aspirants continue to arrive for screening and form collection, it is clear that the race for the APC Chairmanship tickets across the FCT is shaping up to be highly competitive.
One of the Party stakeholders Mr. Umar say the interest being shown by aspirants reflects the strength of the APC in the territory and signals an exciting political season ahead.
