The Anti-Kidnapping, Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, and Drug Abuse Initiative (AKH–TRACADA), a non-governmental organization, has expressed strong outrage over the recent spate of deadly attacks in Benue State.
In a statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, the group’s Executive Director and Founder, Primate Belonwu Ezeanyaeche, condemned the violence, which has left scores of innocent Nigerians—especially women and children—dead and entire communities in distress.
He described the attacks as inhuman, brutal, and acts of terrorism, calling on Nigeria’s security forces to treat the matter with utmost seriousness and urgency.
Ezeanyaeche voiced deep concern over the growing violence across vulnerable communities in the Middle Belt, emphasizing that the incidents go far beyond random acts of violence or communal unrest.
“These are not isolated clashes or petty crimes,” he said. “They are coordinated, calculated attacks targeting civilians. The sheer scale and cruelty, particularly towards women and children, are deeply troubling. These atrocities are crimes against humanity.”
The AKH–TRACADA leader urged the Federal Government to take immediate steps to uncover and bring to justice those behind what he described as a national tragedy.
He insisted that the full force of Nigerian law must be applied to ensure accountability.
Ezeanyaeche specifically called on National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to use his experience and the capabilities of the national intelligence network to track down and dismantle the groups responsible.
“This challenge demands more than condemnation. It requires decisive, intelligence-led responses,” he said. “Arrests alone are not enough. There must be successful prosecutions to deter future atrocities.”

He further recommended that the government either empower local communities to protect themselves or ensure the rapid deployment of adequate security personnel to prevent more attacks.
“The normalization of mass killings must not continue. The state must live up to its constitutional duty to safeguard lives and property,” he stressed.
“The people of Benue—and indeed every Nigerian—deserve to live in peace and dignity. We remain committed to advocating for justice, peace, and the protection of human rights across the country.”
