The just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections across the six Area Councils have once again demonstrated the vibrant and participatory spirit of our great party. We commend every aspirant—those vying for Chairmanship and Councillorship positions—for their courage, sacrifice, and determination to serve their people. The primaries may have produced winners and others who did not emerge, but in truth, everyone who showed up to contest is a winner in the democratic process.
Politics, by its very nature, is competitive. But it is also an avenue for service, unity, and collective growth. As such, we appeal to all aspirants who were not successful in securing the party ticket—take heart, remain strong, and continue to stand firm with our great party. Your vision, your plans, and your contributions are still very important in shaping the future of our Area Councils and the APC at large.
We recognize the emotional and financial investment that many of you have made. The energy spent consulting stakeholders, meeting with constituents, and building support bases is not in vain. The people have seen your efforts, and the party acknowledges your commitment. However, now that the primaries are over, we must shift our focus from internal competition to external collaboration. It is time to stand united behind the candidates who have emerged victorious in a transparent democratic process.
This appeal goes to all aspirants—Chairmanship and Councillorship alike: Let us put the party above personal interests. Let us not allow division to weaken our strength. Let us unite and work together for the greater good of our six Area Councils and the All Progressives Congress.
The general elections are around the corner. What lies ahead is even more important than what is behind us. The opposition is watching. The people are watching. And the future of our party depends on how we respond to this critical moment. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Now is the time to close ranks, mend fences, and support the party’s chosen candidates so that we may win together and deliver good governance to our people.
We encourage all party faithful to reach out to one another. Let us make peace, not war. Let us share ideas, not insults. Let us prove to the world that the APC is not just a political platform but a family bound by shared values, a common vision, and an unshakable commitment to development, unity, and prosperity.
The Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can only be realized at the grassroots level when all hands are on deck. The six Area Councils—Abaji, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali, and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)—need strong leaders, but more importantly, they need a united political force that will champion real development.
To the aspirants who emerged as party candidates, we urge you to reach out to your fellow contestants. Carry them along, respect their contributions, and let them be part of your campaign structures. Victory becomes sweeter and more meaningful when it is shared.
Let us move forward, not backward. Let us work together, not against one another. For in unity, we will win—together.
