The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has pledged his support for the political aspiration of Hon. Shekwolo Audi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Bwari Area Council in the forthcoming Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.
Olawande made the pledge when Shekwolo led a delegation to his office in Abuja.
He assured the delegation of his commitment to ensure Shekwolo emerges as the next Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council in 2026.
“In your words and actions, I see doggedness and passion for youth development.
“Go and start your consultations, you are the next chairman. I admire your resilience as a young leader,” the minister said.
The minister also agreed to chair the forthcoming fundraising dinner in honour of Shekwolo, to be organised by the Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS).
According to him, the dinner is not only aimed at raising funds for the candidate.
“It is also to mobilise stakeholders, political associates and experts to forge a common front to support and deliver him at the polls,”he said.
Earlier in his remarks, Shekwolo solicited guidance and a good working relationship with the ministry, while pledging his dedication to grassroots development.
He noted that his aspiration was not only to win the Bwari Chairmanship election, but also to contribute to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
Shekwolo appealed for the presence and support of the minister as chairman of the fundraising dinner.
He noted that CYMS Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka, would intimate him with further details and itinerary of the event.
As a mark of honour and loyalty, Shekwolo presented a traditional Gbagyi attire to the minister.
The APC candidate was accompanied on the visit by Bwari APC Chairman, Mr Aliyu Tanko Shere, Mr Kenneth Omeiza, and Hon. Kelechi Ugwumba.
