The Solid Women Initiative for Development (SWID) marked two decades of faith-driven community service this week with its “Solid Women Prayer Conference 2025,” a powerful event that combined a crusade, charity outreach, and empowerment for vulnerable women. The event — held in Abuja — featured stirring sermons, outreach to the less privileged, and tangible support for widows and struggling families.
Founded and led by Lady Queen Chikwado Agbu, the Solid Women Initiative has grown from humble beginnings into a prominent faith-based organisation dedicated to uplifting women and transforming lives through evangelism, humanitarian outreach, and spiritual mentoring. For 20 years, SWID has stood as a beacon of hope — and this year’s celebration reaffirmed its mission.

The Prayer Conference and Crusade, held over several days in November 2025, drew women from across Abuja, along with friends, supporters, and community stakeholders. Guest speakers — including Pastor Stephen Adebayo, Pastor Emmanuel Ukachukwu, and Pastor Nkejii Osuji — delivered sermons on repentance, redemption, and holiness, calling participants to deepen their faith and live lives aligned with Christian values.

In her keynote address, Lady Queen Agbu urged attendees to view true beauty not in outward appearance or wealth, but in godly living and spiritual purity. She emphasised that heaven and hell are absolute, and the choices made in this life have eternal consequences. Her message resonated strongly with many of the women gathered.
But the conference was not only about sermons and spiritual renewal. Immediately after the crusade, the Solid Women Initiative team extended love beyond the church walls. They visited impoverished neighbourhoods and the streets of Abuja, distributing food, clothing, and support packages to beggars, widows, and other vulnerable individuals.

Among the beneficiaries was a widow from the Gwagwa area, who tearfully shared how SWID helped her start a small trade that today sustains her family. Another woman testified that the organisation paid her children’s school fees during a time of need, giving her hope when she thought all doors were closed. A young mother also expressed gratitude for assistance with her children’s basic needs. All of them publicly praised Lady Queen Agbu and the Solid Women team for restoring dignity, hope, and purpose to their lives.
SWID also unveiled plans to expand its outreach into rural communities across neighbouring states. Among future initiatives are funding for children’s education, seasonal food distributions, small-business grants for women, and regular support for widows and struggling families.
The conference culminated in a heartfelt Thanksgiving service held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Jabi, Abuja, where members, supporters, and beneficiaries joined in praise, prayer, and gratitude. Hearts were moved, lives recommitted, and new partnerships formed — all underscoring the enduring impact of SWID’s 20-year journey.

Analysts say this type of community-driven faith outreach — blending evangelism with tangible humanitarian service — resonates deeply in Nigeria’s social climate. With rising poverty and growing need among vulnerable populations, organisations like SWID are filling a critical gap between spiritual hope and social welfare. Their work demonstrates that faith-based groups can play a pivotal role in community development and moral renewal.
As Solid Women Initiative looks ahead, Lady Queen Agbu reiterated that their 20th anniversary is not a finish line but a milestone — a recommitment to a mission still unfolding. “Our work for Christ continues,” she said. “We will carry the gospel, hope, and compassion to every corner where there is need. No woman will be forgotten.”
With this renewed zeal, SWID is poised to deepen its reach, broaden its impact, and continue empowering women to transform their lives — and by extension, their communities. For many, the Solid Women Prayer Conference 2025 will be remembered not just as an event but as a turning point: a revival of faith, a renewal of hope, and a tangible act of love for humanity.
