Hon. Haruna Audi Shekwolo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Bwari Area Council chairmanship, on Sunday, 1st February 2026, paid a courtesy visit to Living Faith Church, Byazhin, where he joined members of the congregation in worship.
The visit, which drew warm reactions from church members, was described as a moment of unity and encouragement, as the aspirant was openly acknowledged as a familiar face within the church community.
During the service, the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Byazhin, introduced Hon. Shekwolo to the congregation, describing him as “one of our own” who has served faithfully in various capacities within the church over the years. The pastor noted that the APC candidate had been actively involved as both a member and a leader in various church units, emphasising his long-standing relationship with the ministry.
According to the pastor, Hon. Shekwolo’s aspiration to lead the Bwari Area Council as Chairman represents a significant step in his personal journey and public service ambition. He encouraged members of the church to support the candidate, stressing the importance of standing with someone who has shared in the church’s growth and service.
The Resident Pastor further called on other pastors present and the entire congregation to pray for Hon. Shekwolo’s success in the coming election. He reminded worshippers of the value of spiritual backing, leadership with good character, and the need for peaceful participation in the democratic process.
Following the introduction, prayers were offered for the candidate, his team, and the general peace of the Bwari Area Council and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The congregation also prayed for wisdom, guidance, and divine direction for leaders at all levels.

In his response, Hon. Haruna Audi Shekwolo expressed appreciation to the Resident Pastor and the members of Living Faith Church, Byazhin, for the warm reception and prayers. He thanked the church for standing with him and for recognising his contributions as a committed member over the years.
Hon. Shekwolo also stated that he believes God will continue to raise responsible and impactful leaders from churches across the world, in line with the teachings and declarations of the church’s “Papa in the faith.” He encouraged believers to remain steadfast in prayer and faith, adding that leadership is best approached with humility, service, and the fear of God.
The APC candidate was accompanied by some of his political associates, who also greeted members of the congregation after the service. The atmosphere remained peaceful and respectful, as worshippers interacted freely while maintaining the spirit of the day.

The visit is expected to further strengthen Hon. Shekwolo’s connection with grassroots supporters in Byazhin and surrounding communities, as the Bwari Area Council chairmanship race continues to gather momentum.
Residents and observers will be watching closely as candidates intensify consultations and outreach ahead of the election, with many stakeholders calling for issue-based campaigns, peaceful engagement, and leadership focused on community development.
