The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued 73,740 National Driving Licenses (NDL) in two weeks, Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed said.
A statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Mr. Olusegun Ogungbemide, quoted Mohammed as saying in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Corps Marshal said this success was due to the introduction of strategic interventions to avoid delays in licensing.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that after assuming office, Mohammed visited the FRSC Print Farm, which was an important step towards renewing the entire service provision process related to the issuance of driving licenses.
Crucial to the assessment was growing public outrage at the unprecedented delay applicants faced in obtaining national driving licenses.
At the conclusion of the assessment, the Corps Marshal created a task force to ensure that delays were resolved as quickly as possible.
Manage production 24 hours a day and immediately resolve any identified technical errors that affect the farm’s overall production capacity.
“Currently, a total of 84,500 NDLs are in the production queue and are expected to be delivered to respective state licensing authorities across the country,” he said.
Mohammed assured the public of the Corps’ commitment to quality services.
The Corps Marshal recommended that applicants, especially those who have been awaiting issuance for some time, visit state licensing offices to verify and pick up their licenses.
