The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering high-quality infrastructure across the FCT. He emphasized that his ongoing project inspections are essential to ensuring that all construction meets set standards and is delivered on schedule.
Speaking to journalists during a site visit on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the Minister noted that project oversight is a crucial part of the administration’s duties, stressing that physical inspections are necessary to validate the quality of work being done.

“We can’t rely solely on reports from the office. It’s our responsibility to be on the ground, inspect the progress firsthand, and ensure that any issues are corrected before final delivery,” Wike said. “For example, during our visit to the Mabushi bus terminal, we identified and addressed specific flaws. Waiting until commissioning would have been too late.”
Among the key sites inspected were the Giri District Road Network; the 16-kilometer Inner Northern Expressway (INEX), which includes a 15-span bridge connecting Idu Industrial Area to the Kubwa/Zuba Expressway; the Collector Road CN8 linking Moshood Abiola Way to Dakibiyu in Jabi District; and the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal Complex in Jabi.
Wike disclosed that the road opening up Giri District—home to the EFCC Academy and University of Abuja—is being handled by Levante Construction Ltd and is on track for completion by the end of May. He added that Salini Nigeria Ltd, responsible for the INEX project, has also committed to a May completion date.
“From what we’ve seen, these projects are progressing well and will significantly improve access and development in these areas,” Wike stated. “In Idu, we’re particularly pleased with the bridge that now seamlessly connects to the road leading to Zuba. It’s a huge leap forward in improving movement within the FCT.”
The Minister also inspected work on the Court of Appeal complex, which is scheduled for commissioning in September 2025.

He expressed satisfaction with the overall quality and pace of the projects and commended the contractors for their diligence. Wike assured that the FCT Administration is committed to meeting its financial obligations to avoid delays in project execution.
“These projects align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Seeing residents in these communities benefit from better roads and infrastructure is a testament to the progress we are making,” Wike concluded.
