The Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) has announced the inclusion of its Director-General, Chief Obinna Nwaka, in the Organizing Committee of the World Investment Summit 2026.
The summit is scheduled to hold from June 24 to June 26, 2026, in Abuja.
The announcement is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Media and Publicity Officer of CYMS, Hosea Parah.
Parah said the appointment was conveyed by the Director-General and Convener-General of the summit, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.
According to him, Chief Nwaka will serve in a strategic advisory capacity within the planning structure of the summit.
He added that Nwaka was expected to contribute to strategic planning, provide advisory input, and support stakeholder engagement towards the success of the event.
He noted that coordination activities of the committee would largely be conducted through virtual platforms.
He quoted Prince Adeyemi as describing the appointment as a “strategic boost” to the organising team, expressing confidence that Nwaka’s experience would enhance the credibility and outcomes of the summit.
He stated that the World Investment Summit 2026 was aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s position as a global investment destination in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The summit will bring together global investors, policymakers and business leaders to explore investment opportunities in key sectors of the economy, he said.
He added that participation on the committee was voluntary and non-remunerative, but members would be recognised with awards and certifications.
The summit would also promote international partnerships, investment reforms and sustainable economic growth through increased foreign and domestic investment inflows.
Preparations for the event, he added, are ongoing.
