The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has congratulated Prof. Babatunde Bernard, Senior Technical Advisor, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (OSGF) on his conferment with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Governance by the American University of Peace and Governance, USA.
Prof. Babatunde Bernard was also awarded a Certificate of Fellowship by the Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance (CIPG), USA.
The honours were conferred at a ceremony held in Kigali, Rwanda, which attracted distinguished personalities and global leaders in recognition of excellence in leadership and governance
The CYMS Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka said in a statement by the CYMS media and publicity officer, Hosea Parah on Thursday in Abuja that the awards underscored Prof. Babatunde’s outstanding contributions.
This, he said were to sustainable humanitarian services, social development and effective governance.
He noted that his enduring commitment to advancing societal progress and promoting sustainable development continued to inspire many within Nigeria and beyond.
The CYMS DG described the recognition as well deserved, attributing it to years of dedication, integrity and selfless service to humanity.
Nwaka added that the global recognition highlighted the importance of visionary leadership in fostering meaningful and lasting change.
He commended Prof. Babatunde for his significant impact in driving sustainable development initiatives and strengthening community-based programmes.
“This recognition is a proud moment for Nigeria and we wish Prof. Babatunde continued success in his future endeavours.
“The achievements of the awardee remain a beacon of hope and a model for emerging leaders committed to national and global development,” he said.
The CYMS boss reiterated the commitment of the orgainisation to supporting individuals and institutions that promote peace, nation-building and sustainable growth.
CYMS is a youth body domiciled in and engages under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
CYMS operates under the purview of the OSGF to drive youth inclusion in the promotion of government policies, programs, and activities.
