The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at increasing youth participation in Nigeria’s democratic process through voter education, leadership development and civic engagement.
The initiative began with the maiden edition of the *Renewed Hope Campus Dialogue 2026*, held on June 10 at the Ministry of Environment in Abuja. Organized in partnership with the Association for Students Social Welfare (ASSW) and supported by community development advocates, the event brought together students, youth leaders, government representatives, civil society organizations and political stakeholders to discuss the role of young people in shaping Nigeria’s future.
The dialogue was held under the theme, “Campus Food Bank InitiativeEmpowering Students Through PVC Sensitization and Continuous Voter Registration for Democratic Participation and National Development,” with a broader focus on raising future leaders and encouraging active citizenship among Nigerian students.
Organizers said the programme aligns with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes youth inclusion, civic responsibility, economic empowerment and sustainable national development.
A central objective of the event was to encourage eligible students to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in democratic processes.
Speakers stressed that voter registration should not be viewed solely as a requirement for elections but as a pathway to representation, accountability and civic responsibility.

Addressing participants, Hon. Oluremi Odunsi Oluwalogbon, Grand Matron of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network and keynote speaker, urged young Nigerians to become active contributors to governance and national development.
She encouraged students to embrace leadership opportunities, participate in civic activities and make informed decisions that contribute to the growth of the country.
According to her, young people represent a significant portion of Nigeria’s population and possess the capacity to influence positive social and political change when properly engaged.
Several notable leaders and youth advocates delivered goodwill messages during the event, highlighting the importance of empowering students through education, leadership training and democratic participation.
Among the speakers were representatives from youth organizations, women’s groups, civic advocacy platforms and educational development initiatives.
The speakers collectively emphasized the need for greater youth involvement in governance, policy discussions and nation-building efforts.
They also encouraged students to develop leadership skills, pursue excellence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on leadership development, public service, responsible citizenship and the role of young people in strengthening democratic institutions.
The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining civic engagement beyond election periods and encouraged students to become long-term advocates for positive social change.
A major highlight of the dialogue was the emphasis placed on the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The Organizers described voter registration as a critical step toward ensuring that young Nigerians have a voice in determining the future direction of the country.
Students were encouraged to take advantage of the registration process and educate their peers about the importance of participating in elections and democratic governance.
The campaign also seeks to address voter apathy by promoting awareness of how civic participation can influence policy decisions and community development.
According to the organizers, strengthening youth participation in elections remains essential for building a more inclusive and responsive democracy.
The event also featured the official launch of the
Campus Food Bank Initiative, a welfare programme designed to support students experiencing economic hardship.
The initiative aims to provide assistance to vulnerable students while encouraging volunteerism, compassion and community support within tertiary institutions.
Organizers explained that the programme complements broader efforts to improve student welfare and create a more supportive learning environment.
They noted that many students face financial challenges that can affect their academic performance and overall well-being.
By combining social support with civic engagement activities, the initiative seeks to demonstrate practical ways of empowering young people while promoting social responsibility.
Speaking at the event, *Hon. Adewumi Adetolaju*, National Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Youth & Women Network, announced plans to expand the Campus Dialogue initiative across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The nationwide campaign is expected to be completed before July 10, 2026, reaching thousands of students in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
According to Adetolaju, the programme is designed to create sustainable platforms for civic education, leadership development and youth empowerment.
She described the initiative as an investment in Nigeria’s future and emphasized the importance of preparing young people for leadership roles.
“The future of Nigeria depends on the choices we make today,” she said. “Through the Renewed Hope Campus Dialogue, we are encouraging students to understand the value of civic responsibility, leadership and democratic participation.”
She urged students across the country to participate actively in the voter registration process and become ambassadors of positive change within their campuses and communities.
Participants at the event expressed support for the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting voter education, civic responsibility and leadership development among young Nigerians.
Observers noted that the programme provides an important platform for engaging students in conversations about governance, accountability and national development.
As preparations begin for the nationwide rollout, organizers believe the Renewed Hope Campus Dialogue could become one of the country’s leading youth-focused civic engagement programmes.
By combining voter education, leadership training and student welfare initiatives, the campaign seeks to empower young Nigerians with the knowledge, skills and opportunities needed to contribute meaningfully to national development.
With thousands of students expected to participate in upcoming editions across the country, stakeholders expressed optimism that the initiative will strengthen democratic participation and help nurture a new generation of informed, responsible and community-minded leaders.
The programme concluded with a call for young Nigerians to remain engaged, informed and committed to shaping a more prosperous and inclusive future for the nation.
