Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and renewed hope as Muslims across the country celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festival.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Marwa described the Islamic celebration as a period for reflection on the values of sacrifice, faith and humanity, which he said are essential for national unity and peaceful coexistence.
According to the NDLEA chairman, the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir should inspire Nigerians to strengthen bonds of love, support one another, and work collectively toward building a safer and healthier society.
Marwa noted that the season serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility citizens have in promoting peace, compassion, and national development.
“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the importance of sacrifice, faith, and compassion,” he said. “These values are critical to strengthening unity and advancing our collective goal of building a safer and healthier Nigeria.”
The NDLEA boss extended warm greetings to officers, personnel, stakeholders, and the general public, praying for peace, joy, and blessings during the festive season.
“May this sacred season of sacrifice and compassion renew our hope, strengthen our unity, and inspire us to continue working together for a better Nigeria,” Marwa added.
He encouraged Nigerians to use the celebration as an opportunity to show kindness to the less privileged, support peaceful coexistence, and promote understanding across religious and ethnic lines.
Marwa also urged citizens to remain committed to the values of discipline, responsibility, and humanity, stressing that those virtues are necessary for national progress and social stability.
He wished Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, ending his message with “Barka da Sallah.”
